The year was 2000 A.D. Mr Prosanta Mondal, a young man from Tarkona village of Khandhghosh police station in the district of Purba Bardhaman , realized the need for a good nursery and primary school in that area.
The year was 2000 AD, a youth from Tarkona village of Khandhghosh police station in East Burdwan district realized the need for a good nursery and primary school in Prashant Mandal area.
Education in Torkona village is almost exclusively in Niketan.
Overcoming many hurdles, the school has been promoted to the eighth standard.
Prosanta Sir wants to upgrade the school to higher secondary (HS) in the future.
